GAME TECH: Black Ops III is the gaming equivalent of Jersey Shore

NEAR the start of Call of Duty Black Ops III, there is a grisly scene where your character’s hands are ripped off by an enemy robot. As you lie prone on the ground, knocked over by an explosion, the evil machine gleefully pulls your limbs away. The player is forced to watch, helpless. To make things worse, these are terrorist robots — the last thing you want do is give them a hand.

If you think that joke is in bad taste, then welcome to Black Ops III, the gaming equivalent of Jersey Shore. This is a game populated by irritating, even hateful characters. You will want to punch each and every one of them in their motion-captured faces, among them actors Chris Meloni and Katie Sackoff.
