Gay couple celebrating anniversary asked to leave Dublin restaurant

A man who was holding his partner’s hand in a Dublin restaurant as they celebrated a recent anniversary claims he was asked to leave by a manager as other diners had complained about them.

He says the couple were not kissing, but "holding hands and looking into each other’s eyes" while they were dining.

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, says the lack of acceptance and tolerance he encountered has disheartened him.
