There is viewing in Cork from 9.30am today for Marsh’s sale of contents from the Victoria Hotel on Patrick St at noon. The 600-lot sale, which features wardrobes, dressing tables, lockers, desks, armchairs, chandeliers and a 20ft-long bar counter, takes place at the hotel.

Lynes and Lynes had a well attended sale in Carrigtwohill last Saturday. A c1900 mahogany shop display cabinet made €1,350 at hammer, a four-door library bookcase made €900; a Victorian dining table made €650 and a swing handled silver basket by George Wheatley, Dublin, 1796, sold for €460.
A Georgian long case clock sold for €4,100 at Woodwards last week. A Wedgewood dinner service sold to an internet bidder for €1,500 and a pair of Coalbrookedale garden seats made €1,500.
At RJ Keighery’s sale in Waterford the top lot was a brass breakfront boulle cabinet which made €5,400. A pair of Meissen urns sold for €2,700.
