So even Justin Bieber congratulated the Ireland squad on their win over Germany last night

It was a heady night for Irish sport. Not only did they beat world champions Germany in a memorable Euro 2016 qualifying match in the Aviva, they also received congratulations from the most unlikely of places.

Among the many people tweeting their joy and congratulations to the lads was Justin Bieber - Keane may know Bieber from his time in LA but he’s not known for his interest in Irish soccer, to be honest.

The controversy-prone singer tweeted his congrats to "my brother Keano and the Irish squad".
