Coalbrookdale seats at Woodward’s sale
A pair of Coalbrookdale cast iron garden seats and a carved rocking horse are among the lots on offer at Woodward’s in Cork next Wednesday evening. The sale will include items from the residence at Barryscourt Castle and from St Olan’s, a period house in Coachford.
Antique furniture lots include a Regency card table (€700-€1,000), a Victorian fold over card table (€600-€800); a Georgian lowboy (€400-€600); a George II walnut chest of drawers (€400-€600); and a George II oak chest (€400-€600).
Among the more unusual lots is a large carved Indonesian throne chair (€1,000-€1,600). This auction will also include a private collection of port and wine. A vintage bottle of Taylor’s Port from 1948 is estimated at €1,200-€1,500, a 1955 Cockburn Port has an estimate of €400-€500 and a 1981 Chateauneuf du Pape is estimated at €300-€350.
Viewing at Cook St, Cork is from noon to 5 pm today, 2 pm to 5 pm tomorrow and from 10 am to 5 pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
