VIDEO: Luke Skywalker uses the force to pull pints in Kerry

Locals of a small bar in Co Kerry got a great surprise yesterday evening as Luke Skywalker himself stopped by to pull a few pints and teach people in ’the ways of the Force’.

Currently filming Star Wars Episode VIII on Skellig Michael, Mark Hamill and the crew finished filming for the day and went back to Portmagee, on the west coast of Kerry.

They even stopped by the local ’cantina’ for a pint or two.

When back at the Bridge Bar, the 63 year old actor hopped in behind the bar to lend a hand to staff, even pulling a few pints of Guinness.

But we have to ask, what has happened to his now famous beard?

Steve Lynott captured the above footage and said it was one of the best nights he has ever had in the small local bar.

"There was a great atmosphere in the bar last night as Luke Skywalker got behind the bar to give the lads a hand," he said.

"He was very generous with his time. Despite getting off the shoot late in the day, he stood for pictures and signed autographs for children and still had to get up early this morning for more filming."

According to Mr Lynott, local children gathered around and sang songs to give the actor a real Kerry welcome before a music session kicked off later on in the evening.

We hoped that the Jedi remembered the teachings of his old master Yoda when it came to the ’two-part pour’ of Guinness.

“Do. Or do not. There is no try.”

Since this story surfaced this morning Hamill has since tweeted his love for Ireland saying "Ireland is simply heaven on earth! The people here treat you like family."
