POLL: Golf is not for women, Cork man announces on local radio
Known only as 'Dan', he called into yesterday's Opinion Line on 96FM to complain that there were women playing golf when he went to his local course for a few rounds with friends.
You know a good argument is coming when it starts with: "I have nothing against ladies, I really like ladies. But...
"Something will have to be done about giving us time [on the course]," Dan continues.
"Our golf courses are taken over Saturday, Sunday, Friday evening — the times we are off."
Dan believes the course should be free for men, especially those who work during the week. He claims that of the 16 women in attendance last weekend, only two were in full-time employment. The other 14 were allegedly young women who were in receipt of state pensions.
He claims the women on the course are "dictating" to the men, and hehas started a petition to send to the Golfing Union of Ireland to ensure golf courses are kept free for men only on weekends. He says 72 people have signed it so far. All are men.
He goes on to announce that no men are getting dinner on Sundays because all the women are out playing golf.
The cheek of them.

Host Deirdre O'Shaughnessy later confirmed that she found it difficult to remain impartial.
"I did my best to restrain myself. Fair and balanced broadcasting, and that," she wrote in a follow-up blog post on her website.
Listeners to the show tweeted their amusement at Dan's dilemma.
