WATCH: Helpful raccoon helps man wash his phone
He quickly retrieves it but as soon as his back is turned, the crafty raccoon, Gosha, helpfully finds something else to wash.
Amazingly (or suspiciously), his phone survives
Gosha is a pet raccoon that lives with his owners in Russia. You can see more of his exploits here.
Raccoons are noted for ’washing’ items such as food - their scientific name means ’washing bear’. Scientists are still unsure as to why raccoons do this. One suggestion was that they like to clean their food but this has been discounted. Other theories include that it improves the texture or, most likely, that it is a call back to the engrained action of foraging aquatic food at shores.
