Keen interest in sale of collector’s estate

A PAIR of French Louis XV walnut demi-lune tables from the estate of the Rathcormac collector Tim Arnold is a highlight of Woodwards’ summer sale next Wednesday, July 29, at 6pm.
The late Mr Arnold had taken ownership of a disused church in the village last year with the intention of creating a heritage centre.
Furniture and effects from the church will feature in the auction.
Highlights include the demi-lune tables (€2,500-€4,000), a Georgian long case clock (€2,000-€3,000), a set of eight Cork 11-bar dining chairs (€2,000-€3,000) and a pair of William IV tea tables (€2,000-€3,000).
Other lots include a George II card table (€400-€500), an oak grandmother clock by Hilser, Cork (€300-€400), a Victorian circular dining table (€400-€500), an early Georgian oak bureau (€300 to €400) and a French bracket clock (€300-€400).
There is Waterford Crystal, Irish silver, Persian rugs and collectibles in a sale that will be live on the internet. Viewing is from noon to 5pm today, from 2pm to 5pm tomorrow and from 10am to 5pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
