VIDEO: Little girl with leukaemia ’marries’ her favourite nurse

Four-year-old Abby had the best day of her young life yesterday as she ’married’ her favourite nurse Matt Hickling.

Matt has been taking care of Abby as she bravely battles acute lymphoblastic leukemia at the Melodies Centre for Childhood Cancers in Albany, New York.

All week Abby had been telling her mother between chemo treatments that she was going to marry her nurse Matt.

After her mother asked if Matt could help make her dream come true, he duly obliged and they quickly put yesterday's 'ceremony' together.

We think you'll agree that Abby looks wonderful in her little gown and veil as she walked down the aisle to join the man her mother describes as the "best nurse ever".

Speaking on his new 'marriage' in a Facebook post, Matt said: "This day will hopefully be one our patient and her family can always look back on and smile when days are tough! I know I will!"

The newly-weds had flowers supplied free by a local florist as they swapped ring pops and enjoyed their wedding cake in what seemed like a brilliant day around.

Abby's family were keen to thank all involved including all the medical staff at the centre.

The four-year-old has a long road ahead of her, but it looks like she's got a brilliant team around her to help.

We know Matt won't be leaving be leaving his 'wife's' side anytime soon.
