Irish Rail found that lovely young lad who was so nice to the elderly couple on the train

Remember that story from about the young guy who chatted away to an elderly couple on the Dublin to Cork train?

Irish Rail found that lovely young lad who was so nice to the elderly couple on the train

Twitter user Tweecher who overheard the conversation wanted to find him to commend him for being so polite and well-mannered.

Well, Irish Rail have found him!

The young man's name is Thomas Conway, he's from Ballina in Tipperary and it sounds like he's as nice as we'd imagined he would be.

After seeing the story circulated online, the nineteen-year-old recognised himself and got in touch with Irish Rail who posted his lovely message on Twitter this afternoon.

In the message, Thomas says that it was no hardship chatting to 'the genuinely lovely' couple sitting near, saying they were fellow GAA fans.

Thomas believes he shouldn't be singled out for praise as he believes "respect for our elders, and indeed everyone around us, has always been a fundamental value of humans and I believe it's growing amongst young people".

While he could be accused of being overly optimistic, if there are more young people out there like young Thomas then there's hope for us yet.

He even complimented Irish Rail on their service.

What a charmer.
