WATCH: Plane makes heart-stopping emergency landing on busy motorway

The US Federal Aviation Administration are currently investigating an incident that saw a small plane carrying five people have to make an emergency landing on a busy New Jersey motorway.

Dramatic CCTV footage released today by the Stafford Township Police Department shows the moment the plane touches down in between cars after losing power to the engines. It then barrels up the motorway onto the grass divider.

It is not really clear if the light aircraft strikes any cars, but no major injuries were reported from incident and only the skydiving instructor on board suffered a cut on his arm.
