TAYLOR SWIFT’s juggernaut of an album, 1989, has continued to rack up huge sales figures - and has now been crowned the fastest-selling album in a decade.

Taylor Swift’s album is fastest-selling in a decade

According to data from Nielsen Music, 1989 has sold more than five million copies since its release 36 weeks ago, reaching this milestone more quickly than any album in the past 10 years.

The previous album to reach the milestone that quickly was USHER’s Confessions, which took 19 weeks to hit five million in 2004, according to Variety.

Taylor has now blown past ADELE’s 21, which took 42 weeks to hit sales of five million in late 2011. It’s a record-breaking week for Taylor: earlier this week, her music video for Blank Space became the fastest video to top one billion views on Vevo.

ARIANA GRANDE has pulled out of a concert after a video emerged of her seemingly licking doughnuts in a shop and saying she hated America and Americans.

The Problem singer was filmed at Wolfee Donuts in Lake Elsinore, California, where she stood at the counter waiting to be served with her new love, dancer RICKY ALVAREZ, who she was seen kissing.

But staff at the shop were shocked to see Ariana and Ricky pretend to lick sugar from the doughnuts on the counter, getting closer until they may have actually touched them, and when a new tray of sweet treats was brought out she said: “What the f*** is that? I hate Americans, I hate America. That’s disgusting.”

Ariana has since issued an apology of sorts, claiming her comments were taken out of context and that she is actually angry at the state of the nation’s health, but she has dropped out of an appearance at the MLB All-Star Concert in Cincinnati on Saturday, where she will be replaced by DEMI LOVATO.

However, according to the singer, she has not been taken off the bill because of the doughnut incident but because she has been suffering with her wisdom teeth.

MAISIE WILLIAMS has dashed the hopes of KIT HARINGTON fans by declaring that there is “no hope” of a return for his Game of Thrones character, Jon Snow.

“We saw him get stabbed a lot in the chest,” she told PEOPLE. “I think that’s pretty clear that he’s [dead].”

The 18-year-old, who plays Arya Stark in the hit series, said: “It’s heartbreaking... knowing that we’re not going to be with Kit again. People are really hurt by it, but that’s what this show does. If you haven’t learned that by now, I can’t help you!”

BILL MURRAY is set to make his first appearance at San Diego’s Comic-Con.

The 64-year-old is tipped to make his debut at the pop culture convention to promote his new film, Rock The Kasbah.

While details are being kept under wraps, the star’s surprise appearance is expected to take place during Open Road Film’s presentation at the San Diego Convention Centre, reported E! News.

Award-winning actor Bill, who has starred in movies such as Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day and Lost In Translation, plays a washed-up music manager who enters a teenage singer he discovers in Afghanistan into an American Idol-style TV show called Afghan Star.
