VIDEO: Proposal on board an Aer Lingus flight

Love lifts us up where we belong, they say.

Well, it certainly got a lift last weekend, when passengers on board a flight to the Canary Islands witnessed a proposal at 30,000 feet.

A video posted to the Aer Lingus Facebook page shows a couple take over the plane's PA system, as a man asks the most important question of his life.

"I'm gonna kill you," the newly engaged woman informs him, getting things off to a fantastic start.

The proposal took place on a flight to Lanzarote last Saturday afternoon.

In a statement, Aer Lingus said the hopeful suitor got in touch in advance to arrange champagne and a bouquet of flowers to be brought on board, and ensure the help of the flight crew.
