VIDEO: Pilot makes impressive emergency landing after mid-air collision

A pilot had to use all of his training and skill after his plane was involved in a mid air collision with another small aircraft.

The incident happened in the skies over Fort McMurray in Alberta, Canada and sadly claimed the lives of two others involved.

The Cessna 185 can be seen dragging along debris, before landing on the runway at the airbase and the pilot ditching the smoking remains of the aircraft.

Emergency responders were on the scene immediately to aid the pilot.

The two people aboard the other aircraft - a Cessna 172 - died when their plane hit the ground after the collision.

The plane went down in an isolated area of woodland and the two people we pronounced dead at the scene.
