Prince Charles has never been in the IRA confirms Washington Post

The Washington Post made quite a blunder today.

The US news organisation was reporting on Prince Charles' visit to Ireland and his meeting with Gerry Adams today, but they clearly got the two men confused in one paragraph.

"Prince Charles has always denied he's a member of the IRA," they wrote, "and during his trip to Ireland, Charles, who will be joined by the Duchess of Cornwall, will visit the village of Mullaghmore in County Sligo - where his great-uncle, Earl Mountbatten, was killed by an IRA bomb in 1979."

They're not exactly wrong. Prince Charles has never actually admitted to being in the IRA, for obvious reasons.

Eagle-eyed Twitter users spotted the mistake straight away and the Washington Post have now corrected the mistake.
