Capital idea: Some of the world’s best wakeboarders will be in Dublin this weekend for the Waterways Ireland Docklands Summer Festival in Grand Canal Dock. 

Last year’s festival attracted more than 60,000 visitors and organisers have planned lots of family events including a Rubber Ducky race, children’s arts centre, funfair, street performances, and food markets; www.docklandssummerfestival.com

Tickets are also on sale for Bloom, Ireland’s largest garden and food festival, which will be held in the Phoenix Park over the June bank holiday weekend.
