Nicola, 38, and her husband Mark Borland had been trying for a baby for 11 long years and even tried fertility treatment to no avail. When you add in that, unfortunately, Cathy's other two daughters Natasha and Sylvia are unable to conceive - you could understand Cathy's despair.
Last weekend, Nicola came round to her mother's home with the happy news that she never expected.
Her reaction was priceless (and very loud)!
According to the Daily Record, after Natasha caught the moment on film, Cathy had to make sure everyone in the street knew she was finally going to be a grandmother.
"I'm on Cloud Nine. After the video I ran out and shouted: 'I'm Cathy Hutcheon and I'm going to be a gran'. I've only just got my voice back from screaming," Cathy told the paper.
The family have described Nicola's baby news as a "miracle" as she conceived naturally after ending years of IVF fertility treatment.
We wish Nicola all the best in her pregnancy and we can imagine the little bundle of joy will be spoiled rotten by the entire family - but especially by Nana Hutcheon!
