Antiques in brief

There is viewing in Cahir, Co Tipperary from 10.30am today for PJ O’Gorman’s on the premises auction of contents from the Convent of Mercy, Cahir at noon. There is some fine antique furniture, church pews, statues, art, silver plate and porcelain.
Hibernian Antique Fairs are at Hudson Bay Hotel, Athlone from 11 am to 6 pm tomorrow.
In Waterford there is viewing from 11am to 4pm today and from 9am on Monday for an auction of garden furniture and effects due to get underway at RJ Keighery at 5.30pm next Monday. The catalogue lists more than 450 lots.
The contents of Dripsey Castle, Co Cork will be auctioned by Aidan Foley at the Auction Rooms, Sixmilebridge, Co Clare next Tuesday at 10am. There is viewing from 11am to 5pm today, 2pm to 5pm tomorrow, 11am to 8pm on Monday and from 9am on Tuesday
Woodwards had a successful auction in Cork at which the top lot was a Sirene plate by Lalique which sold for
4,800. A set of Cork 11-bar chairs made 2,100, as did a pair of Coalbrookdale style cast iron garden seats.The Vintage Fashion and Decor Fair at the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire tomorrow will incorporate 50 trade stands, a retro fashion show, style demos and vintage makeovers.
There will be vintage furniture and homewares, fine china and table linen, collector quality vintage jewellery, art, rare books and prints. Opening times are from 11.30am to 6.30pm.
