Brendan Ó Sé's 'lucky' shot of Copenhagan has beaten 1,000 other submissions to win the Mira Mobile Prize, which "rewards the best images taken and edited with mobile devices."

He has won a week in Porto (six days, five nights, including accommodation and food) and a return trip from any European capital.

Ó Sé says he is "so very happy and proud to be this year's winner of the Mira Mobile Prize".

Ó Sé's image was taken on an iPhone 6, and is currently on display on billboards around the world as part of Apple's 'Shot on iPhone 6' advertising campaign.

"Seeing my photograph on posters and billboards in locations such as Hollywood, New York, LA, Milan, Berlin, and Tokyo is something that will live with me for the rest of my life.

"Photography is my passion, but I don't know how this can ever be topped," Ó Sé told the Irish Examiner last month.

He described how lucky he was to have captured the striking image.

"I took this photograph with the iPhone 6 in a very quirky public park in Copenhagen. I was on top of the little hill looking back down.

"I wanted to accentuate the sense of movement the curved lines gave and to include a human element to add another dimension to the image.

"Photography can require a combination of patience and luck at times. Luckily for me the four people walked into the frame and I was able to create a good composition."

More of his stunning images can be found on his Flickr account here.
