There will also be face painting, an Easter Bunny Games area and you can say hello to the 12 new Tamworth piglets and three lambs at the Family Farm; www.dublinzoo.ie

Be inspired: If you are looking for a little inspiration for your own egg hunt, Cadbury has created an easy-to-use Easter Egg Trail Pack and other activities which can be downloaded from www.eastereggtrail.com .

To point you in the right direction, this set of six Easter hunt signs is €8 from Marks & Spencer.

There are also little bags of carrot and bunny jellies, €4.49 for 10, or you can create some fun springtime shapes with a set of three Easter cookie cutters – rabbit, flower and butterfly – also €8; www.marksandspencer.ie

Smart photos: Snap-happy Irish mammies are going to egg-stra lengths to capture perfect family moments, with almost a third taking more than 10 pictures to achieve that perfect shot.

Not surprisingly, three quarters of parents now take family pictures on their smartphone and share them through email or social media, a survey for the Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg ‘n’ Spoon ‘Family Moments’ campaign found.

Less the half of the 600+ parents surveyed print off the pictures, though most wish they had done so more often. One in two said they had lost snaps of precious moments when they lost or broke a phone and just 20% stored family pictures to a hard drive.

Easter treat: They may not be Easter bunnies but Big and Little Nutbrown Hare have captured the hearts of children and adults for two decades.
