Period gems amid wealth of antiques in Carrigtwohill
Antique furniture, gilt over mantles, chandeliers, old rugby and Cork Opera House programmes and garden items will come under the hammer at Lynes and Lynes in Carrigtwohill next Saturday (March 28) at 11 am.
A Georgian style three pod dining table and 12 antique chairs are each estimated at €500-€1,000. Other furniture includes a large 19th century bookcase, a Georgian library table, a 19th century chess table, side and server tables, an Irish Georgian demi lune card table, a Regency over mantle mirror, a four poster bed and seven chests of drawers.
There is an old advertising poster, wing back armchairs, pairs of table lamps, bedroom furniture, a table tennis table, four early Irish limestone troughs, a Georgian stone plaque with the Hibernia harp, London 1802 and an early period cast iron stove.
The sale features chinaware from the Pat Cremin collection grouped together in large lots. Viewing is from 10 am to 8 pm next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
