Irish people buy more flowers for Mother’s Day than Valentine’s Day

Mother's Day is the biggest day for flower sales as shoppers will pick up bunches of blooms to show the mammies of Ireland how much they are appreciated.

Tesco's sales reveal that shoppers are more likely to surprise their mammies than their Valentines with a bouquet of flowers.

Flower sales in Tesco Ireland’s 149 stores are 7% higher for Mother’s Day than for Valentine’s Day, making Mother’s Day the most popular day for shoppers to pick up a bouquet in store.

It should come as no surprise - everyone loves an Irish mammy!
