Some fluffy puppies will be available for cuddling this Paddy’s Day in Cork

Some patriotic puppies will be taking part in the St Patrick’s Day festivities at Ballincollig next week.

Cork Dog Action Welfare Group (DAWG) will be at the Ballincollig Shopping Centre Farmer's Market on St Patrick's Day from 11am and some VIPs - Very Important Puppies - will also be making an appearance.

A bunch of puppies and foster dogs will be on hand for cuddling, petting and general cuteness.

Yogi is a beautiful 4 year old Labrador looking for a new home.

If that's not enough for the kids, there will also be face painting and balloon artists around to entertain the little ones on the day.

DAWG will be selling biscuits for both human and canine consumption, as well as dog tag replacements and crafts from their stall to raise funds for the charity.

Cork DAWG, is a charitable organisation created and run primarily by a network of volunteers concerned with the welfare of abandoned, abused and ill-treated dogs.

Max is a 14 mth old gentle German Shepherd cross who is looking for a new home.

They aim to improve the lives of Cork’s dogs and to educate the public on dog welfare and dog ownership.
