Video: How do you know you exist?
How do you know that your existence isn't a dream?
Do you think that you could logically prove that some insane scientist hasn't given us the false sense of reality, making us that we exist?
This video appeared on TedEd, created by James Zucker in which he attempts to answer these questions.
The video is a tribute to ’s " ", in which he tried to answer the very question of 'how do we know we exist'.
All his knowledge had come from his sensory perceptions of the world but in this, he threw all of this out and began again.
Senses show you the world as it is, you see with your eyes, hear with your ears etc.
They don't decieve you, or do they?
Have you ever seen someone you recognise from far away and as you move closer you realise that it isn't actually the person you thought it was.
This is just one of the many ideas that the video explores so scroll back up, turn on your brain and try not to freak out when you realise you might not exist.
Enjoy your existential crisis, but remember what Descartes said "".
