Singing Cork man professionally records charity song and it’s beautiful

John Horgan - from the Knockavilla based Crossroads bar in Co Cork - shot to fame last week when a video of him singing while serving pints was posted on social media.

John's wonderful rendition of Jimmy McCarthy's Bright Blue Rose appeared all over national media and the video has now been viewed over half a million times on Facebook.

After hearing John's songbird-like voice, Leo Fitzgerald of Music Row Studios contacted the barman to record a charity version of Bright Blue Rose and the result is awesome.

Speaking to the Cork Today with Patricia Messenger on C103 radio, Leo was astounded by John's talent.

"Even professionals who perform on stage and in bands find the studio difficult at times - but John came in like a guy doing it for many years, we were amazed".

We agree Leo, he is amazing!

The single will be on sale at the Crossroads Bar for €5 and a percentage of the sale will be given to the Cork branch of the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind.
