Mahogany table in spotlight at Woodwards auction

A 24-foot long dining table on four pods is one of the more eye-catching lots at Woodwards auction in Cork next Wednesday at 6pm.

The fine mahogany table is in four sections. The two centre sections can be used as individual tables with drop leaves.

In terms of size this table, complete with four quadrapods, is one of the finest dining tables to come on the market in Cork for a long time.

Estimated at €5,000-€10,000 it is currently on display at Woodwards showroom in Cook St, Cork where it is laden with Waterford glass pieces.

The auction will feature 100 lots of Waterford Crystal from a collector and contents from two separate houses. Garden furniture includes a set of four cast iron garden seats and a table, a pair of fern and leaf garden benches.

There is a Regency walnut card table, a Georgian circular pod table, three library tables, sets of chairs, equestrian paintings and a set of Toby jugs.

The sale is on view from noon to 5 pm today (saturday), from 2 pm to 5 pm tomorrow and from 10 am to 5 pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
