Hibernian Antique Fairs are in Birr, Co Offaly from 11 am to 6 pm tomorrow.

The fair will feature furniture, art; silver; jewellery; porcelain; glass; vintage fashion and accessories; cutlery; coins; banknotes and collectibles.

STUDENTS’ WORK

The Student of the Year exhibition featuring Joseph Keating and Yestin Reboul runs at the Lavit Gallery in Cork until February 28. Keating uses paint and mixed media to explore an overall sense of place and belonging.

Reboul works with clay, exploring the human figure. Cork Arts Society has held a Student of the Year exhibition since 1967. The student or students are chosen from those graduating from the Crawford.

CORK FEATURES IN KERRY

In Tralee the sale at Kerry Auction Rooms at noon today features a 19th century long case clock by Egan’s of Cork. There is a good selection of clocks as well as Toby Jugs, stamps; furniture; art and collectibles. It is on view from 9 am.

HOUSE CLEARANCE

An antique and house clearance auction featuring a Victorian horse trap in prime condition takes place at O’Donovan and Associates, Newcastlewest, Co Limerick at 11 am today.

IT’S RAINING ART

‘Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain’ is the title of an exhibition which opens today at Lismore Castle Arts. It features work by artists who address the natural world through video, sculpture, photography and drawing.

It features work by Melanie Bonajo; Veit Laurent Kurz; Ciaran O’Dochartaigh; Karl Blossfeldt; Edward Clydesdale Thomson and Gemma Anderson, and it runs to April 12.

FRENCH FLAIR

The antiques and collectors sale at Cork Auction Rooms next February 22 will include a Napoleon III bonheur de jour, a French giltwood vitrine cabinet; Chinese vases; a Boulle mantle clock; a musket and swords. Viewing is from 10 am to 6 pm next Friday and Saturday.

VALUATION DAY

Sotheby’s specialist Charlie Minter will hold a British and Irish art Valuation Day at Lismore Castle on February 26.

The focus is on 19th and 20th century art. It will last from 1 pm to 6 pm. Mr. Minter will lecture on the art market and opportunities for collectors at LIsmore Castle that evening.

ONLINE AUCTION

Bidding is now underway for Morgan O’Driscoll’s online art auction which runs until 6.30 pm on Monday week (February 23).

The sale will be on view in Skibbereen from 11 am to 5 pm next Thursday and Friday and from 11 am to 3 pm on Monday week.

AT THE HUNT MUSEUM...

An antiques and collectibles valuation day takes place at The Hunt Museum on February 22 from noon to 4.30 pm. Experts from the Irish Antique Dealers Association will be on hand.
