Cork school’s version of Uptown Funk is pretty class
Pupils from Mr White's class in Bunscoil Mhuire in Youghal posted their version of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars hit song on YouTube last week and it has already gotten over 11,000 views.
5th class teacher Alan White, sent this video into us and said it came about after the class had great fun covering a Band Aid video.
"There was a fantastic reaction to the video so we decided to make another one to showcase the great facilities in Bunscoil Mhuire Youghal"
The video began was an in-class project for fifth class and escalated into what you see in the video.
"It was filmed over two days by myself on my iPhone and the kids took turns videoing me when I was in shot.
"We scripted an idea for the video before hand and brainstormed on it in class before taking to shooting i then edited the movie at home.
"Principal Eoghan Rua O' Neill and deputy principal Niamh O' leary were very supportive when they found out about the project and were delighted to allow the video be published after the parents had also agreed."
The video was an instant hit, having recieved over 4000 views within the first few hours of it being online.
"The children are buzzing and felt like celebrities. The kids had a ball making the video and were very involved with the song choice aswell.
"...it's a joy to be able to do these kinds of activities with them to foster their creative side whether it be through dance, song, movie making, writing etc."
