Conor McGregor invited to crossroads scrap with "hardy bucks" in Donegal

A letter in today’s Irish Examiner offers UFC fighter Conor McGregor up to the hills of Donegal to have to have it out with some "hardy bucks".

Conor McGregor invited to crossroads scrap with "hardy bucks" in Donegal

Letter writer James Woods is not too enamoured with the UFC fighter and says he will clap when the Dubliner is beaten.

"Conor McGregor’s insulting behavior and the belittling of his opponents is something Irish sports people have never indulged in," writes Mr. Woods.

"If he wants to leave the safety of his UFC cage and come up to the hills of Donegal, he will meet hardy bucks who don’t wear wee tight jocks or wax their chests. They will send him home in bandages and sticky plasters after a scrap at the nearest crossroads, " he adds.

Mr. Woods is also peaved at McGregor's trash talk of opponents.

"I cannot stand those who resemble the back end of a donkey, and act like one letting off steam when it eats too much lush grass, shouting in such a derogatory fashion about their opponents’ looks or humble origins."

We're unaware of who the hardy bucks are or even if these views are representative of anyone in the county besides our letter writer, but we are excited at this potential new fighting entertainment franchise.

So, will Conor take up the invitation?
