Miss Universe selfie sparks international incident. Sort of

But it has reignited tensions between two old enemies - at least on the beauty pageant stage, anyway.
Miss Lebanon has been forced to distance herself from the selfie she appeared in with Miss Israel after being criticised by social media users as well as the Lebanese media.
Saly Greige took to her Facebook page to insist that Israel's Doron Matalon had pushed her way into the photo alongside Greige and the contestants from Japan and Slovenia.
"Since the first day of my arrival to participate to Miss Universe, I was very cautious to avoid being in any photo or communication with Miss Israel (that tried several times to have a photo with me)," Ms Greige. Wrote.
"I was having a photo with Miss Japan, Miss Slovenia and myself, suddenly Miss Israel jumped in, took a selfie, and put it on her social media."
Israel and Lebanon are still technically at war - Israeli products are banned from Lebanon as is travel to the country.
Ms. Matalon responded on her Instagram page, saying:
"It doesn't surprise me, but it still makes me sad. Too bad you can not put the hostility out of the game, only for three weeks of an experience of a lifetime that we can meet girls from around the world and also from the neighboring country."
Let's hope they resolve their differences in time to make their 'world peace' answers convincing.
