Albert Uderzo, the 87-year-old creator of famous French cartoon Asterix, came out of retirement last night to pen two drawings in tribute to the victims of the Charlie Hebdo shootings.

The first panel, shared by the official Asterix account and published in the French media, show Asterix delivering a knockout punch to an unseen assailant, declaring: "Moi aussi je suis un Charlie" (I too am Charlie).
