George Hook is live tweeting his hospital experience and it’s pretty funny!
Whilst many of us would be a bit glum about being in hospital, George is keeping us up-to-date with all the comings and goings of his time 'under the knife'.
From pictures of the knee itself and flattering pictures of the man himself in a hospital gown, to thanking his wife Ingrid for paying the VHI bill, his tweets have entertained us to no end today.
The surgery went very well according to the 73 year-old broadcaster who said "I am ecstatic! All appears to have gone well. The epidural has left me no feeling below the waist.”
The rugby pundit also acknowledged the current national crisis which has seen a record 601 people on trollies in hospitals across the country.
"I must confess to a feeling of sadness that 600 people are on trollies and thanks to VHI I am in a smart room in Blackrock Clinic.”
"I hope Shane gives the HSE a rough ride on the programme today. It is unfair that private entitles a bed and public a trolley."
