Ed Power meets up with soprano Katherine Jenkins. Did he find the foot-stomping, champagne flute-hurling uber-diva that many would expect? 

Is Katherine Jenkins a foot-stomping, champagne flute-hurling uber-diva? That was certainly the impression put forward last year when the Welsh mezzo soprano split acrimoniously from her record company.

The break-up was accompanied by rumours of strops and outrageous demands: €1,800 a day splurged on hair and make-up, €2.5m squandered on record promotion and other expenses. The label, it was hinted none-too-subtly, was happy to see the back of her.
