Stephen Colbert’s ’hottest’ interview ever

Chat show host Stephen Colbert is no stranger to having big guests on his show, but what happens when his latest interviewee barely fits in the studio.

Stephen Colbert’s ’hottest’ interview ever

Colbert had the pleasure of interviewing one of Hollywood's 'hottest' stars, Smaug the Dragon on his show this week.

Smaug, whose new movie,  The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, was released in cinemas this week was on The Colbert Report to promote the film.

Stephen Colbert realised that himself and Smaug the Defiler have a lot in common.

"We both live in gated communities and we're both fiscal conservatives who sleep on giant piles of money."

Smaug speaks about his experiences on the set of the new movie, saying that he did most of his scenes through motion capture technology.

"I spent most of the movie reciting lines to a tennis ball on a stick. And I'm not even talking about Orlando Bloom."

In terms of future projects, Smaug the Magnificent has been offered a role on Sherlock but he has confirmed that he turned it down.

"I mean, who wants to play second fiddle to that hack, CUMBERBATCH!"

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Fiver Armies is in cinemas now.
