VIDEO: Russell Brand and Nigel Farage can’t get a word in on BBC debate

Well, this all escalated rather quickly.

If you put outspoken comedian Russell Brand and Ukip party leader Nigel Farage in the same room, you expect there to be fireworks.

However, neither of them could get a word in edgewise when the audience members on BBC's Question Time programme kicked off.

One man loudly urged Brand to stand for Parliament instead of preaching, to which Brand replied that he didn't want to become “one of them”.

While Farage had a little smirk to himself at Brand's slight discomfort, it was a little and brief victory for the controversial politician.

In a week where he dropped a clanger for blaming disabled people for causing a traffic jam, he's not the most popular man in the UK.

One woman was determined to put Farage in his place and interjected shouting, "I live in South Thanet and I'm coming for you Farage, don’t you bloody worry."

So this much hyped battle between leftie Brand and right-wing politician ended in a draw with the audience causing more of a ruckus than anyone.
