Irish art features in Dublin and London
More than 25 lots of sculpture will feature from artists including John Behan, Jarlath Daly; Carolyn Mulholland; Ann Cooney; Leo Higgins; Ian Wright; Cathy Carman and Elizabeth le Jeune.
The catalogue cover lot is Dan O’Neill’s Travelling Through Kerry (€15,000-€20,000) and the artists featured include Camille Souter, George Campbell; John Shinnors; Louis le Brocquy; Markey Robinson; Kenneth Webb; Neil Shawcross; William Crozier; Donald Teskey and Tony O’Malley. Viewing is at the RDS from noon to 5 pm today, tomorrow and Monday.
n An important group by Louis le Brocquy is included in Sotheby’s sale of British and Irish art in London next Wednesday. The five works by the artist, including Sick Tinker Child, are estimated at £200,000-£300,000.
The 23 Irish lots in this sale — including works by Orpen, Yeats, Dillon, Jellett and Basil Blackshaw — are estimated to bring in around £700,000.
