A 19th century Irish breakfront bookcase, a marquetry and ormolu mounted bracket clock and a serpentine boulle credenza all feature at Hegarty’s final auction of the year in Bandon at 3 pm tomorrow.

Now on view, the auction offers rich pickings for furniture and collectible-hunters from among more than 350 lots.

An 18th century satinwood card table (€3,000-€5,000), a George II Irish chest on chest (€4,000-€6,000); a Georgian side table (€3,000-€5,000) and a Cork Nelson sideboard (€3,000-€5,000) are among the highlights.

Collectibles include a c1900 silver parasol handle by Kwan Wo of Canton and Hong Kong (€800-€1,200). There is a good selection of porcelain and the sale offers silver, gilt mirrors, books from a Cork collector and Irish 19th century glass.

Viewing is from noon to 5 pm today and from noon to the start of the auction tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the sale of the second half of the collection of the late Patrick Cremin takes place at Lynes and Lynes in Carrigtwohill next Saturday (December 13) at 11 am. More than 90% of lots on offer in the first part of this collection were sold last month.

Around 300 lots will come under the hammer next Saturday, including furniture, paintings, drawings, coins, silverware and numerous collectible items. A collection of Cork stoneware jugs and jars is estimated at €200-€300 and other lots include two carved timber figures acquired over 50 years ago (€50-€100), a pair of wing back chairs (€200-€400), an antique marble mantle clock (€100-€200) and a Victorian chaise longue (€150-€250). The auction will be on view from 10 am to 8 pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
