Little girl’s look of disgust convinces Tesco to take down sexist signs

When seven-year-old Maggie was in Tesco in Poole, Dorset, she noticed something, that to her, was highly offensive.

Little girl’s look of disgust convinces Tesco to take down sexist signs

So her mom, Karen, took a picture of her expressing that disgust.

We wouldn't like to be on the receiving end of that - and it seems Tesco took notice.

As Karen told Buzzfeed News, her daughter took issue with the fact that the Marvel alarm clock was being targeted at boys:

"She spotted the sign before I did and pointed it out to me by indignantly saying something like, "Well that's wrong! Anybody can like superheroes, they're being stupid aren't they?"

Karen explained that as well as liking superheroes, Maggie "loves Doctor Who, Minecraft, dragons, skeletons and zombies (she had a cemetery cake for her birthday!) but also likes Frozen, princesses, kittens etc. She just thinks shops labelling toys for boys or girls is silly: "I can like what I want.".

We like a girl who knows her own mind! The tweet has since gone super-viral and Tesco have taken notice, saying:

"This alarm clock would make a great gift for both girls and boys. The sign has been removed and we're sorry if it caused any confusion."
