South Court Hotel will become Ireland’s biggest antiques ‘shop’

HIBERNIAN Antique Fairs promise to transform Limerick’s South Court Hotel into Ireland’s biggest antique shop next weekend. Dealers from all over Ireland and Northern Ireland will be in attendance. There will be eight stands with 18th and 19th century furniture, 10 stands with jewellery, and five stands with 18th and 19th century silver.

There will be stands with Irish coins and banknotes, gold, 19th and 20th century lighting, vintage clothing and accessories, vintage vinyl records, watches, barometers, porcelain, costume jewellery, books, militaria and wall-to-wall collectible items, including autographs and an Oscar pendant, designed by Liberace and worn by him at the 1982 Academy Awards.

The two-day National Antiques Art and Vintage Fair will be open from 11am to 6pm, November 1 and 2, and the antiques professionals will include many members of the Irish Antique Dealers’ Association. Hibernian Antique Fairs will be at Midleton Park Hotel from 11am to 6pm tomorrow.
