Brave Dundalk fan gets "League Champions" tattoo... 3 days before Cork title showdown
Super fan Mark 'Maxi' McAllister has jumped the gun somewhat and had 'League Champions 2014' tattooed on his arm - just days before his beloved Lilywhites face Cork in a winner takes all contest that will decide the fate of the SSE Airtricity Premier League trophy.
Cork are a point ahead of the Co. Louth side after the penultimate round of fixtures saw City beat Bohemians and Dundalk held to a draw by Bray Wanderers.
If Dundalk should fail to get the result they need against the Leesiders, Mark has promised to get the words 'Cork City' added to his tattoo leaving him as red faced as his arm after the needle.
However, Mark is so confident his team can wrap up the title that he decided to get the tattoo on a whim after being approached on the street this morning by the owner of Cuchulainn Tattoos, Fergus Cullen.
"Dundalk can't lose or draw on Friday, we all believe that here," said Fergus.
“I approached him on the street this morning and said I’d do it free of charge and he said, ‘come on let’s do it’. It was done in 12 minutes,” he added.

He's not the first football fan to get a premature inking celebrating a team’s future success. Birmingham based ManchesterCity fanatic Kirk Bradley had 'Manchester City Champions League Winners 2011' tattooed on his arm in 2010.
However, City failed to qualify for the tournament and the £80 'tatt' was left as a permanent reminder of City’s failure. He is still waiting to have the lettering altered if City eventually go on to win Europe's ultimate prize.
