Butterfly effect: Ellen Kent returns to Ireland with two new opera productions

Ellen Kent braved a war zone in her efforts to bring two marvellous operas to Ireland, writes Jo Kerrigan

OPERA impresario Ellen Kent is back in Ireland this week, hauling a wonderful company and articulated trucks behind her, to present new productions of both Madama Butterfly and Rigoletto.

But her adventures were hair-raising in getting the troupe safely to the UK and Ireland.
