Andy Warhol: hang him on your wall

A Triptych watercolour of Cork Harbour, probably from around 1864 by John Corbett (1822-1893), is a rarity at Whyte’s sale at the RDS on Monday at 6 pm.

Andy Warhol: hang him on your wall

Corbett was Royal Navy Captain of HMS Hastings at Queenstown for two years from 1864 and the watercolour is estimated at €1,500-€1,800.

The auction will include a selection of work by Andy Warhol and Damien Hirst from the Taylor Collection in Belfast among 216 lots of Irish and international painting and sculpture. There are major oils by Sir John Lavery, Mainie Jellett and Dan O’Neill at de Vere’s auction of Irish art and design at 6pm next Tuesday at Bewley’s in Ballsbridge.
