Antique furniture made in Cork will feature at the Lynes and Lynes sale in Carrigtwohill next Saturday (Sep 27) at 11 am.

Cork-made pieces include a large mahogany server c1830 (€3,000-€4,000), a hall table (€800-€1,200), some chests of drawers with estimates of €100-€400, open bookshelves and a cylinder bureau bookcase (€1,000-€1,500).

A large antique mahogany bookshelf on a table base is estimated at €1,000-€1,500. The auction offers antique settees and chairs, including a pair of Art Deco chairs and a Georgian reclining library chair. There is silver and jewellery with engagement and diamond dress rings.

The sale includes a collection of paintings which have been in storage for a number of years. Glass on offer includes a pair of cut glass urns and a Waterford glass chandelier. One of the more unusual lots is a c1930 walnut press which houses a trouser press. Choral Festival programmes are among more than 300 lots. Viewing is from 10 am to 8 pm next Thursday and Friday.
