Fresh words of wisdom for first year students

Thousands of students from every corner of the country are beginning their first year at college. Arlene Harris talks to four people at the top of their field to find out how they got to where they are today, and what advice they would give to first year students.

I was very young doing my Leaving Cert and was only 16 when I started in UCD as I didn’t turn 17 for a few months. I studied Law but the decision was made purely by chance. I remember being on holiday in Dingle when my Leaving Cert results came through and I hadn’t a clue what I wanted to do.
