It just so happened the raid took place during a YouTube streaming of the game – in fact, it’s emerged this was the reason it even took place.

According to Kootra – the name of the player involved – fake calls to the police are becoming increasingly common among rival gaming groups in order to get them “Swatted”, the term used to describe such a visit from the police.

Celebrities including Kim Kardashian and Tom Cruise have been “swatted” in the past.

Kootra is part of game group The Creatures, who regularly post gaming streams on YouTube and new Amazon acquisition Twitch. On the YouTube page with the SWAT team video, he refers to a “troll” who made a fake call to police.

According to local news, the entire building was evacuated, with SWAT teams sweeping the car park.

Counter-Strike come to life.
