Uma Thurman laughs off Quentin Tarantino 'romance'

Uma Thurman has spoken about the rumours that she is in a relationship with Quentin Tarantino.

The pair are friends who have worked together on the Kill Bill films and Pulp Fiction, but were recently said to have grown closer after they were pictured embracing at Cannes Film Festival.

According to the Daily Mirror, Uma told Vs magazine: “I was discussing [the rumours] with Mr Tarantino last night. He was angry at me for not calling him back because, as he said, ‘According to the papers we are practically married!’ And he laughed hysterically.

“So our relationship is pretty much what it’s always been; people are just having fun with it.”

Uma, who has had a bit of time off from acting since giving birth to daughter Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson (nicknamed Luna) in 2012, said she had enjoyed her time out.

She said: “I’ve kind of been on a hiatus for a while, and I just started getting back to work right now. I had a baby and I also wanted to take a step back, and so I did. I think it’s important to have this time to take a step back, analyse things and just breathe.

“I also think media is part of the career of an actor. There is no career for an actor who is in some way not in the media, unless they are unsuccessful.”
