But the Oscar-nominated actor, who plays sharp shooter Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the Avengers films, admitted that although there are rumours about his role, it would all depend on his work schedule.

ā€œThere are rumblings of Captain America 3. I don’t know what’s going to happen there,ā€ he told Collider.

ā€œI’ve got to find the time, man. I’m trying to stay home and I can’t,ā€ he added.

Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L Jackson are expected to reprise their roles in Captain America 3, which will be released in 2016.

Jeremy, who will be back as Hawkeye in Avengers: Age Of Ultron in 2015, continued: ā€œI still have Mission: Impossible 5 that I’m going to shoot in a week. And then, Bourne will happen next summer.ā€

The 43-year-old also has a number of other films on his slate, as he prepares to make his producing debut with Kill The Messenger through his company, The Combine.

ā€œKill The Messenger is a great one for our company. It’s our first one we’ve produced and it’s setting a tone for what we want to do to the public and to other people that want to make movies,ā€ he explained.

ā€œAnother one is King Of Heists, that’s about the biggest bank robbery in American History. It’s very, very exciting. It’s kind of like Heat in the early 1900s. It’s really cool.

ā€œAnd then, there’s a Steve McQueen project that’s fascinating to me. I love that guy. He’s so the antithesis of himself constantly. It’s amazing. And then Slingshot is a great rally racing movie. It’s again another one with themes of underdogs.ā€
