Victorious Breaking Bad dominates Emmys with wins for acting trio
Bryan Cranston was honoured as best actor in a drama for Breaking Bad with wins for co-stars Aaron Paul and Anna Gunn in categories for supporting actor/actress roles in a drama series.
âI have gratitude for everything that has happened,â Cranston said. His victory ties him with four-time best drama actor champ Dennis Franz.
âThank you for this wonderful farewell to our show,â said Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan said of the series about a teacher-turned-drug kingpin Walter White. It clinched the overall award of best drama series.
The show also picked up a best writing award in a drama series for Moira Walley-Beckett for her work on the episode Ozymandias.
After the Emmy Awards the cast and crew attended a victorious AMC after party to celebrate.
Paul, known as Jesse Pinkman in the show, showed off his Emmy as he walked into the party.
Cranston, who played meth dealer Walter White, posed for photos with admirers as he made his way into crowded BOA Steakhouse in West Hollywood.
Anna Gunn, who played Cranstonâs wife, briefly carried her statuette, and castmate Betsy Brandt arrived shortly thereafter to join the last big blowout for the show whose finale aired 11 months ago.
