Art on show in Skibb for local fundraiser

The August weekend is normally the busiest one of the year in Skibbereen and this year there is plenty to attract art lovers. 

Morgan O'Driscoll's online Irish art auction is on view either online or at his premises on Ilen St. from noon to 5 p.m. today, tomorrow and Monday and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

The 71 works being sold to benefit the building fund of the West Cork Arts Centre are on display in shop windows throughout Skibbereen, so there is art everywhere.

Online bidding for this sale of 299 lots ends at 6.30 p.m. on Tuesday for lot one and on to about 10.15 p.m. before the final lot is knocked down.

Artists featured include Dan O'Neill, Frank McKelvey, Gladys MacCabe, Arthur Maderson, John Minihane, Graham Knuttel, Harry Kernoff, Michael Mulcahy, Tim Goulding, Charles Tyrrell, Sarah Walker, Cormac Boydell, Bernadette Kiely and many more.
